Creator’s dare: I beat it. Can you?
Ranked, unranked, guest and local AI games. Finished games count once. Opponent rows show duels; totals also include multi-AI games.
The activity panel combines completed ranked, unranked, guest, local and AI matchmaking games. Every recorded game counts once. Official ranked duels are controlled by the server; local practice results are checked by replaying the submitted board, and remain separate from ranked proof.
Our AI vs humans adds recorded completed games across Casual, Smart, Hard, Experimental and Nightmare, including the creator’s games. Opponent rows show duels; overall totals also include multi-AI games counted once each. Ranked, unranked, guest, local and AI matchmaking results are included; the Nightmare row keeps the focus on the challenge. Games played includes draws. Resignations, time outs and unfinished games are excluded from these completed-game totals. Guest and local games count in these public activity totals. They remain practice results for ranks and medals; recording an activity result does not turn it into ranked proof.
The creator’s dare is a personal claim. An “only the creator” milestone is displayed only when recorded completed results support it.
Both use Nightmare AI and a 30-second human turn limit. Hell gives the computer a stronger search setting. It is available under Classic rules; switching the rules changes which options are offered. Experimental and Nightmare require a board of at least 9×9.
The computer’s search time and your turn deadline are separate. Wait for the AI to complete its move, then use your own turn to compare threats. To practice without that deadline, choose Hard AI.
These are practical ideas, not a forced-win solution. The strategy guide develops them with beginner examples.
Nightmare’s character dialogue can contain offensive language. Choose Light banter or turn it off in Settings if you prefer; the same AI still plays. Voices and sounds have separate controls.
For reproducible search comparisons, see the AI Arena and its benchmark protocol. Those results apply to their tested boards and settings. Browser play is free and guest matches require no download or sign-up.

No unbeatable claim is made. Nightmare is designed as a tough opponent, and results depend on the position and your moves. Benchmark results describe specific test conditions rather than proving that no human can win.
Open Play vs Computer, choose Nightmare and Classic rules, then enable the Nightmare Hell switch and start a match. The Play Nightmare Hell link on this page starts a 9×9 Classic Duel directly.
The AI vs humans panel includes recorded completed ranked, unranked, guest, local, historical and AI matchmaking games across all five AI levels, including the creator’s games. Multi-AI games count once in the overall totals; opponent rows show duels. Human-only, abandoned and unfinished games are excluded. Draws are completed games but not wins. Practice results count as activity and do not become ranked wins.
Yes. Nightmare can use strong language in its character dialogue. Choose Light banter or turn character banter off in Settings. You can also control voices and sounds; the AI difficulty stays the same.
